What we Do...  Worship. Encourage. Serve.

These three words represent what makes us excited and  joyful about our church. We believe they describe why our church exists and what we do.

What is "The Church"?

Church is drived from a word that means "the called-out ones". It is not referring to buildings or denominations but to people. People that have been "called-out" of the unbeliving world. The Bible uses this word to refer to two different ideas, The Church and the local Church.

The Church is the entire Church. It is everyone, everywhere that has repented for sinning and are trusting Jesus Christ to pay their penalty for their sins. Every person or denomination in The Entire Church does not see eye-to-eye on every point in the Bible but everyone that is truely a "called-out one" agrees on this point and is a part of The Church.

The local Church (or church with lowercase "c") refers to a group of people who worship together. You may have heard them called a congregation or an assembly. The Bible makes it clear that everyone should be a part of both The Church and the local Church.

Worship

Everybody worships. You cannot deny it. You cannot avoid it. One of the definitions of worship is to "show devotion to," and everyone is devoted to something. Before we make Christ our Lord, we are devoted to either false gods or we are devoted to ourselves. All we ever really want is... what we want. We are devoted to ourselves. It sounds ugly but if we do not worship the true and living God, we worship ourselves.

Worship, or worth-ship, is to pay homage (respect) to what we treasure most. When we worship God above everything else, we are expressing with our mind and spirit that He has more worth than any other possession, priority, affection or apiration we have in life.
